Yes, that's me.

I found photography in my teens. That means I grew up on film.  There was no looking at the back of the camera to see if you got it right.  You HAD to KNOW that you got it right.  Otherwise, there was no fixing it.  In my opinion, that was the best way to learn and educate myself on the art of photography.

Photography became a hobby quickly and eventually my profession.  I think I went everywhere with a camera. At least when I thought there would be something interesting to photograph.  I learned a lot of stuff simply by doing if you know what I mean.  A lot of test rolls of film and figuring it out as I went along.  Today, with digital having the ability to look at the back of the camera is instant satisfaction or instant gratification you could say.  The display is also a tool.  I can take a quick look and see if I want to make any minor adjustments or make changes to enhance the look of an image on the fly.  Maybe I would like a slightly brighter or darker look.  Maybe I want to highlight a certain part of the image with specific lighting.

I was a restaurant manager before changing careers.  That is where my strong customer service background came from. I am big on your complete satisfaction with Lauren and me and our work.  Whatever it takes.

I like meeting new people and making new friends.  Many of our couples stay in touch with us.  We often become the family photographers.

My wife and I have been married for over 40 years.  We have a son and a daughter.  We also have 2 grandkids who keep us busy.  We have two dachshunds, Ruby Jane (Ruby) and Harley Davidson (Harley or Har) who also keep me busy.

I don't know what I would do if I wasn't a photographer.  Probably teach photography. I think I have developer fluid, or these days, ink in my veins.

Lauren Kuhn Headshots-001Lauren Kuhn Headshots-001 Born and raised in East Brunswick, New Jersey, Lauren found her passion for photography by accident.  With a passion for fine art and sculpting, she took a part-time job as a photographer for a national chain to help pay off her student loans through college.  Once she picked up the camera, she put the metal and clay down and never looked back.

As a member of PPANJ for years, she continues to develop her talents through coaching and mentoring from some of the best photographers in the business.  Her greatest influences come from Rick Farrell and Denis Hammond, whom she says “helped shape my photography in ways I can’t begin to measure”
