Be better then you were yesterday. MARS class 2013
Just watched clips from a Billy Joel interview. He was on one
MARS Class 2013MARS Class 2013
of the morning news shows. One of the things he said; that he
beat himself up for not getting the education, not enough training.
That hit home for me. I can relate this totally to the photography field. I've spent a great amount of time, over the years, to my own education and the education of those that work with me, more recently educating other. No one person knows it all. We can all learn something, anything, at any stage in our careers.
If you don't indulge yourself, go after that education, on hands seminar, networking with fellow photographers, video tutorial, week long school, you're missing out on the one thing that will progress your photographic skills. Without the education, you're out there guessing which will lead to frustration and disappointment. Possibly a loss of interest to the wonderful world of photography.
For your own sake and the sake of the photography industry, educate yourself. Be better then you were yesterday.
That is always our goal. I want each and every even and session we photograph to be better than the previous event or session.
Educational need is true for and field. There is always something new or different you can pick up along you career path. Never stop learning. If you're at a point in your career where you feel can can give back, I encourage you to do so. Educating others is a very satisfying experience. Watching the "light bulb turn on" or the facial expression when someone finally get the concept, is priceless. Well worth my time and efforts.
