This story goes back a few years. Shortly after opening my own photography studio I photographed a wedding for a couple that were really into their wedding photography. That's a great thing as far as I’m concerned. This particular couple and I planned the time we need to create the images they wanted. She made sure the hotel gave us a suite we could set up a background and lighting for studio portrait work.
The bride stopped in to pick up her previews. Now, let me say, I felt I did a particularly good job with their wedding images (not to brag, but….). As she began to turn the pages of her preview book she begins saying “OMG!”, turns the page “OMG!”. Now, I’m not sure what the OMG is all about. She continues, “OMG!” Now I’m starting to get worried! I’ve never had someone not like their images. I keep hearing her say “OMG!. I’m starting to get really concerned, almost scared. She gets about half way through the book. Closes it. Not even getting to what I thought was the REALLY good stuff. Leans back in the chair, closes her eyes, and say, “All I ever wanted was a story book wedding.” So I’m thinking, here it comes I’m in trouble. She continues, “…(sigh)… now I have it!” Now it’s my turn to say OMG!.
WOW! What a compliment. I couldn’t ask for a better ending to my day. She made my day. What am I saying, she made me really appreciate what I’m able to do. I have the ability to touch the lives of everyone I photograph.
I love what I do!
