The safety of your wedding day images.

What the worst thing that could happen to your wedding day photos?

For no particular reason, I happened across a website with wedding photography disaster stories.  Most of these stories are from devastated couple with no images from their wedding day.  The overwhelming reason these couples are without their wedding day photos?  Their chosen photographer failed to back up or take proper care of memory cards before leaving the reception.  Story after story of similar disasters.

One story said the photographer has placed THE ONLY memory card from the wedding in his wallet when he left the reception.  Had gone shopping the following day and lost his wallet.

These stories just make me 1) feel real bad for the couples involved. 2) Makes me think about the stupidity of these photographers.

Something like this will never happen when you choose South Street as your photographer.  I’m just a little obsessive when it comes to the safety of your wedding images.

Before I leave you reception every single memory card is backed up to my laptop.   When I get home, those images are copied onto an external drive for my own peace of mind.  Once back in the studio, your images are copied to three more locations.  1) A backup external drive.  2) My main hard drive. 3) A network storage device.  Both the main hard drive and the network device and RAID systems (redundant drive systems).   I also keep a copy of each event on disk and that is stored off site for safety sake.

My opinion, there is no such thing as too many backups.

Just one more reason South Street Studios should be your photographer.
