PLEASE indulge me for a bit while I ramble....
Many brides ask "Can you make me look thin in my photos?". A common question.
Well, um........ Yes we can. No offense, there are ways to bring out the best in someone or minimize a particular feature on enhance a feature through photographic techniques. So, yes we can make you look amazing.
There are few things we can tell you that will help give you a certain appearance in photos.
First, you NEVER want to be photographed with your body positions straight into the camera lens. That is the widest your body can appears to the camera. You want your body turned slight in relation to the camera lens. You can "slim down" just by turning away from the lens slightly.
Second, your arms. If your dress is sleeveless, your arms will be prominent in your photos. One way to minimize that is to cover your arms with your veil, Another in to "tuck" your arm under/behind the person next to you.
Another thought on your arms in relation to your body. If you drop your arms to your sides, this, in photos will make you appear wider. There are ways to minimize this also. This is something I would need to show you, Hard to explain.
Third, shifting you weight onto your front foot (again maybe a little hard to explain) will elongate your body, giving you a slimmer appearance.
These are just a few techniques, there are others, but this is enough for now.
There are also a few camera techniques that can help. Here are a few.
Lens choice by your photographer is critical. Wide angle lenses tend to cause distortion and can cause you to appear bigger in the scene. Especially from the wrong angle. Choosing a longer lens (telephoto) is the better choice. A long lens give a more pleasing appearance, no distortion, and can compress the scene.
A slightly higher camera angle can slim the appearance of your body. Specially for head and shoulder photos.
