Something that just irks me!

Ok, a little vent on my part.    See this image?

Well... this image is straight out of the camera.  No embellishments at all.  None whatsoever.  I have done nothing to them besides post here.

Why is that so interesting and important?

Well.... here is my concern: In my opinion; If you can't get a great image right out of your camera and need to RELY on software to fix your under/over exposed, poorly cropped image you shouldn't present your self as a professional photographer.  I feel a PROFESSIONAL should KNOW how the get the best out of their equipment and not rely on software to FIX mistakes.  That's NOT what the software was developed for.  The software was developed to enhance that already great image.

Unfortunately that's what that software has become.  A fix for poor or mediocre photography.

I shudder to think what this industry will become in the next few years.  No one will hang portraits in their homes.    Why?  "We have them on a disk.  That's all we wanted was the disk."  "We'll print our own."    How many of you have intended to actually print from that disk and never got around to it?

I fear the photography industry as a whole is slowly but surely sliding down hill.  In a few short years, the level of quality photography will decline to a point where images will all look the same, nothing special, nothing great.  Just another photographer on the block.

I'm sorry, that's just how I feel.  Hopefully I'm wrong.   In my opinion there are so many people entering this industry, that I love, that the level of experience and education just isn't there.  Most people believe all they need is the camera and a Facebook page.

Again, in my opinion, it's take more than a camera.  It take photographic knowledge, business knowledge and more.

Hopefully your experience with your photographer is or was positive.  I hear stories regularly about poor experiences.  People that wouldn't recommend their photographer.  I even have had two recent brides tell me that friends decided to go with a cheaper photographer and had bad experiences and hate the images from their chosen photographer.  There is nothing I can do for them now.  They should have spent their hard earned money more wisely.  Is a few bucks worth it in the long run?

Ok. my rant is over.  Thank you for your time.

If you want a great photographic experience and a reasonable price, call us at 732-866-1709.   You hard earned money will be well spent.  That I promise.
