Hi Thought I would help with your photography decision:

Things to look for in your photographer

Have you ever done a search for photographer in you area?  There are bazillions.  So many people for whatever reason have decided to enter the photography field in recent years.  How do you know where to start?  Do they have the proper skills to attempt photographing your wedding?   Are they insured?
My guess is, no.

You should look for someone that has the experience and skill to photograph your wedding properly.  Someone who understands the nuances of a wedding day.  The timing, the things that need to be photographed throughout the day, without you telling them you want this or that.  Someone that will capture the detail of the day, the things you never got the chance to see.  The things that mean the world to you that you'll want to remember.  Someone that will be there when you need then, and in the background when you don't.  Someone that will help you with every aspect of your day, from helping with your dress or flowers to whatever it takes.

Your photographer should know their equipment and lighting.  Should be able, in a split second, know how to work in any lighting conditions.  Be prepared for anything that could happen in an instant, be in the right place at the right time, all the time.

You want to be comfortable with the photographer with whom you are going to spend your wedding day.  Personality is very important.  You want someone your family, friends and you, feel you can spend an entire day with and thank them for doing so at the end of your special day.

What are you looking for?  Someone with that experience and credentials to back that up.  Look for diplomas and other awards.  John is a CPP (Certified Professional Photographer).  This Degree is from PPA (Professional Photographer of America) and is awarded to a photographer who has met the strict criteria for certification,  John also has a Photographic Craftsman's Degree.  This degree is awarded for mentoring, work as an orator or educator, in the art of photography.

How many people do you know who would recommend their photographer?  I'll bet not many.  Our couples recommend us constantly.  We have families we have work with for years.  They'll call us to be sure we have a date available BEFORE booking their reception location.

I understand your budget is a concern, however, the one thing you have after all is said and done are your wedding images.  Spending a little more on a qualified professional wedding photographer will give you piece of mind AND satisfaction.  Money well spent.

Make us one of your first stops in your photography search.  We'll  educate you in the art of photography.  What to look for in your photographer.  Choosing South Street or another photographer, we what you to make the best decision for you.  That's our main concern.
