Why a seasoned professional photographer for your wedding?

Well....  We all see the advertising, the hype, the commercial for the digital camera where the photographer is presenting his work.  The viewers ask him questions like, "How did you compensate for the low light conditions?".  His response, "Very well, thank you.".  Someone asked, "What was your depth of field?".  His response. "Really big?"  This exchange goes on for a few more question with similar answers.  Then the commercial concludes with the tag line.   This, to me, is what's the world believes of the professional photography industry.  All you need is a camera.  Skill and knowledge do not matter.

This commercial for me explains what most people think, when looking onto professional photography for their wedding.  Anyone with a camera can take pictures at my wedding.  I don't need to spend a lot on a photographer all they do is push a button all day long.   Well... it's not REALLY that easy.

Yes, I agree anyone with a camera CAN take pictures at your wedding.  We see it all the time.  Compact digital, cell phones all over your ceremony and reception, many to the point of getting in the way.

A Professional does what we do for a reason.  Love of what we do. Especially in an artistic field.  We do, because we care. We care about you, our brides and grooms.  We care about your day.  We care about how your day will unfold before you, with us as part of it.  We care that your images should be more than snapshots.  We care, PERIOD!

What you get from a professional is quality and service.  Yes, my camera CAN create great images, however, only if I know how to use and set my camera properly for the lighting, setting, focus and composition that will give your images the most impact. (I won't even go into lighting.) Could I just point and shoot?  Oh, absolutely, however, I don't, because I care.  I get excited about what I do.

I want you to view your images for the first time and get goose bumps.  I want your complete satisfaction.  I want you to refer every friend, family, co-worker to me.  Knowing you are placing them in good hands.

Would you rather pick up the disk of images you paid a few bucks for, ride home put the disk or thumb drive in the computer, view your images and say, "ok, that was nice, We'll print some later."?  No. Personally I want you to view your images the minute you arrive to pick up your previews.  See a slide show, maybe with a coffee or tea, in a relaxed comfortable setting.  All the time knowing you made the right decision in your photographer choice.   Also knowing your album will be amazing.  The portrait you'll hang at home will be displayed proudly, proclaiming to everyone who your photographer is.

If I don't do the job you expect of me.  I won't get your referrals.  I know, in my heart, I'll deliver as promised.

THAT is what a professional can do for you.  Now, if you

hire South Street or another professional photographer, you'll be in better hands than if you hired any ol' photog, because the price was right.  You'll invest a lot of hard earned money on the details of your special day.  Why not spend a little more on someone you know you can trust.  That will deliver.  It's all about quality and service.

Make us your first stop in your photography search.  For two reasons:  1) You'll compare everyone to South Street.  You'll find very few comparisons to our quality and service.   2) You'll be more educated as to what to look for in your photographer.  An educated client is my favorite.

BTW, I don't consider what I do as a professional photographer as JOB.  It's just too darn much fun to call what I do a job.  I get to touch the lives of someone nearly every day.  how many people do you know that can say that about their chosen profession.
