Thought I pass on a few stories showing you why experience is important.
Story #1:
This goes back a few years. I was told by the Priest that I couldn't take any photos during the ceremony. Well... I questioned him. Do you mean, not at all or no flash. He didn't understand what I was asking, so I explained. I could set a camera on a tripod with high ISO, no flash. His question to me was, "You can do that?"
I assured him I could and we picked a place in the church that was agreeable to both of us for me to setup.
After the ceremony, he thanked me and said no one had ever questioned him or ask to do what I did. He asked if I needed to re-stage the ring exchange. No, Sir. I have everything I need, Thank you.

Story #2 , very similar to story #1:
The minister said no photography during the ceremony. same question, do you mean not at or or no flash? She asked me how loud the camera was. I fired the shutter a few time for her. She then brought me to an area behind the alter off to the side with a perfect view of the ceremony. She ask is this spot ok? Absolutely! Thank you!
After, she thanked me and said I didn't know you could work without a flash. My pleasure, I'm glad we were able to work together.
Just a few example where experience pays off.
