A little something to think about.
Most photographer these days include your photos on a disk or thumb drive. Some by download. If you downloaded you photos, you have no hard copy. The first thing you should do is make a back up of your photos. Get them on a disk or thumb drive, a few copies to be safe. Store at least one copy in a safe deposit box. Another backup would be on line. In any event you should make copied of your photo files. Did your photographer maintain a copy?
Maybe you had a few prints made at local print place on cheap paper. You'll hang them around your home. Eventually they'll fade. You may or may not replace them.
The thumb drive or disk is left around the house. Can't find it. Eventually it turns up only to get misplaced again, if not lost.
Technology will change. Will you disk be compatible with future technology? Probably not. Gone are tapes, floppy disks even Mac computers these days don't have a cd/dvd drive.
Who still has 8 MM home movies? VHS tapes? Do you even have a VCR? Nope. Technology changes fast.
Books
What's your best solution? An album, a wedding album. The best way to be sure you have something tangible from you wedding day. Something that will stand the test of time. Your album will out last any technology changes. Something to have a hold. Something permanent.
One other little item for you. Something we give all of our wedding couple is our Preview Catalog. So... not only do you get your photos on a thumb drive, you receive a printed book of your wedding day photos. Something tangible. Another thing most photographer don't do that you'll get from us. O
