Hi, we haven't post one of these in a few weeks. Our latest "How it was done"
0001
0007
Balancing window light with room light.
This can be a bit tricky. The exposure outside is different then inside. The trick is adding light to the inside exposure. Why? In order to see what is outside the window, we must expose for that light. This causes the inside to be much darker. I'm sure you've seen photos of people in front of a window and the scene outside the window looks great, however, the people are underexposed or dark.
We add light to the inside scene to compensate. A video light or flash. Whatever type of light we feel works best for the scene.
We hope you enjoying our how it was done series.
