Here is our latest "How it was done" image.
Sometimes it's simply, point the camera and hit the shutter button and hope you get "THE shot". Literally.
Spur of the moment images are there for an instant and then gone. Either you get it or you don't. There is no sense, to me, in trying to re-pose that instant. That being said, we need to be ready...

We love playing with light. The reception location had an "After Party" room with a ton of colored lights. We took advantage of those lights.

So... our bride, Nicole was a dancer. She loved to dance an be in front of the camera. We loved the look of the ballroom. The lighting, the decor, it was perfect to the idea we had in mind.
We asked Nicole to do a spin for us. We had had do a spin and a swish, back and forth so we could capture the dress in movement.

Another thing we look for on a wedding day is a location we can play around with. One of our favorite locations, The Buttonwood Manor, in Matawan has mirrors in their entryway.
The trick is for us to not be in the reflections. Something different.
