Something personal

Just got home, saw Bohemian Rhapsody tonight. I LOVED THIS MOVIE! My new all-time favorite movie. Music aside, this was an excellent film.

Ok, where do I start? Let’s see, first small spoiler alert on one scene. I’ll get to that……
Ok, a little history for you. My father was a country music fan. That’s what I listened to as a child. I knew Johnny Cash, Roy Acuff, Charlie Pride and other before I found any other music.
Probably in early high school, I found Queen. The album was “A day at the races”. I was hooked. I immediately went out and picked up “Night at the opera” and “Sheer heart attack” and “Queen II”. I think I have gotten every album/CD since. My opinion, not many voices finer than Freddie Mercury. Seeing this movie shed some like into his life and gave new meaning to several of his songs.
I seriously want to see it again and again
.

Ok, Spoiler alert: The best scene in the movie: Queen and their manager are talking with a record executive. The executive says (paraphrasing), “people want a song they can listen to, loud, in their cars and bang their heads to. Bohemian Rhapsody is not that song.”. The Record exec is Mike Myers. Get it. If not go watch Wayne’s World. I think I was the only person in the theater that laughed out loud. Either no one knew the exec was played by Myers or they didn’t get the reference. Probably didn’t get it.
Anyway. I don’t think you need to be a Queen or Freddie Mercury fan to enjoy this film. It’s well done. Go see it. If you are a fan you should enjoy it immensely.

AND, As I was leaving the theater, I tuned the car radio to Classic Vinyl on S/XM. Bohemian Rhapsody was playing. What timing.
